Bon Appetit: Ben and Jerry’s CLIC Week Enjoyed by All!

What an engaging and delicious topic for our April CLIC Week!  Student were tasked with designing a brand new Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavor.  And not just any flavor; students were also given the goal of raising awareness and encouraging support for a real-life social and/or environmental issue.

Students loved the topic and worked diligently all week doing research and planning for their ice cream flavors.  Students chose a fantastic range of topics to raise awareness for, from local issues like Lake Champlain Clean-Up to global issues such as World Peace.  All the topics were well researched, with the Ben and Jerry’s website being at the top of the list of sources!  Students then worked to design a logo for their pints which presented their chosen topic in their own colorful and creative style.

After researching and planning the design for their flavors, it was time to craft poster-sized versions of their ice cream pints.  The designs were artistically impressive and really turned out great!

Following a gallery walk to view schoolmates’ designs, everyone’s dream of eating Ben and Jerry’s ice cream came true as we gathered together for a celebration of all the students’ hard work.

The students did a fantastic job researching, designing, and creating their pints.  I am sure that Rob from Ben and Jerry’s will be impressed when he visits for presentations on Tuesday.  Well done everyone!

Best,

Dylan Fitzsimmons
