This week in STEM, the 3/4 class finished their inventions that demonstrated energy transformations, and created posters to show the different types of energy involved in the process. To celebrate the end of their project, we went outside on a lovely spring day to have some fun with rollercoasters and take on some design challenges! They had to design a rollercoaster that could launch a marble 12 inches into a cup. They also did an online simulation where they could create a rollercoaster and see how the potential energy is converted to kinetic energy as the coaster travels. They did a wonderful job and had fun building their coasters!
